Hygiene Appointments - What are they for?
A hygiene appointment is a very important part of routine oral care. At your regular dental check-up, you will undergo an examination and hygiene which includes removing calculus (tartar) build up on your teeth and removing superficial stains and the application of agents which help to prevent decay. Your dentist will also discuss with you home care techniques and suggest products that are ideal for your specific situation. Dental health education is very important to us at Kangaroo Island Dental, so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask your dentist. Regular dental hygiene appointments combined with effective plaque removal techniques at home play an important part in the prevention of gum disease. The whole hygiene procedure takes around 45 minutes and will leave you with that clean feeling to help you smile with confidence.
